VILLAGE MINKANA
Angong Ze Arthur
The village MINKANA is an artistic company that aims to be a travelling school for the spoken word and street arts. We are a team of nearly 20 people, including actors, storytellers, poets, singers, craftsmen, stilt-walkers and puppeteers. We offer live art and street performances.
We applied after receiving the information on Facebook and WhatsApp in the cultural groups. Our project caught the attention of the jury, who invited us to an interview. We've been awarded a grant and coaching in cultural entrepreneurship.
ABOUT
I'm a passionate, multidisciplinary artist. I'm an actor, storyteller, director, playwright, poet, singer and cultural promoter who knows no limits. In a context where art is not considered, I'm resilient, confident, dreamy and positive. My dream is to enable the young people and women in my structure to dream and make a living from their art. I also want to create a market for oral and street performances. We want to propose new avenues of advertising based on our cultural heritage to interest industries and large commercial structures. We dream of creating advertising tales and personalized puppets for large corporations.
